You do not need professional equipment to submit a report: a smartphone or a camera is enough. Follow these suggestions to improve the quality of the data you send.
If you do not recognize the organism, do not touch it with bare hands. Some species may be irritating or harmful. If you need to move it slightly for the photo, use a stick or another object.
Take at least one sharp, well-lit photo that is in focus. If possible, photograph the organism from above and add a side view.
If possible, include a scale reference: a metric marker, a coin, or an easy-to-measure object. If you do not have one, you can still submit the report.
In the next step you can place the point on the map or use browser geolocation. Then complete the essential details and submit the report directly from the site.
